Government Higher Secondary School Prakash was first established in 1948 as a private school. It was later transferred to the state government in 1973-74. In 1976, the school was upgraded to a higher primary school. Prakash Vidyalaya was recognized as a secondary school in the 2008-09 session. It attained its current status in the 2022-23 session. Today, it is known as a higher secondary school. The school is located in Ward No. 35 on Hudera Road in the Ratangarh Municipality area, located 1 km from the tehsil headquarters in Ratangarh and 50 km from the district headquarters in Churu.
